SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Hundreds of Siouxlanders gathered at the Sioux City Public Museum to celebrate the up and coming holiday, Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead.

The museum has been hosting a celebration for the holiday for several years now; bringing in local dance troops, musical performances, and a reader's theater for the Dia De Los Muertos event.

On top of the entertainment, folks could also walk around and look at several ofrendas, or altars, built by community members that honor loved ones that have passed.

Officials say this event allows the museum to educate the community and remind folks that not everyone celebrates the same holidays.
