SLATON, Texas (KCBD) - The Slaton Tigers (7-1) are the End Zone Team of the Week, after rallying to defeat Muleshoe 41-21 on the road Friday night. The Tigers are in the KCBD studio for the first time since 2018!

Slaton trailed 21-19 headed into the fourth quarter against Muleshoe, but forced the Mules to punt right at the end of the third, which in turn gave the Tigers great field position. Quarterback Jacob Lopez gave his team the lead off a quarterback keeper designed play but then found his teammate Daniel Payne on the 2-point conversion to take the 27-21 lead. But the pandemonium didn’t stop there. After taking the lead, Slaton kicked it off and Muleshoe fumbled it, recovered by the Tigers, which gave them the opportunity to go up two scores.
