Saturday’s 33-24 win over Arkansas was emotional for Auburn football .

Not only did the Tigers get their first win in SEC play, but they did it amid the firing buzz surrounding Auburn coach Hugh Freeze.

“But the realest thing, to me, is watching what I got into coaching for — and that is for a group of young men to grow and a staff to grow together. And that’s what I see with our kids and our staff," Freeze said on the brink of tears postgame. “Just really proud of the way everybody led this week. We could be sitting here saying we’re 6-2 or 7-1, possibly. But we’re not. And, yet I find myself probably even more proud of the way they’ve handled all that’s come their way and all the stuff they have to listen to.”
