LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -The Friends of Lansing Historic Cemeteries encouraged community members to visit any of the three cemeteries in the city of Lansing on Sunday for National Visit a Cemetery Day.

National Visit a Cemetery Day is always on the last Sunday in October and is a day to honor the lives of loved ones who have passed away by paying their respects and reflecting on memories.

The day also allows community members to see everything the cemeteries have to offer.

Loretta Stanaway, president of the Friends of Lansing’s Historic Cemeteries, said the day can help people learn more about the history of Lansing.
