PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria firefighters used the jaws of life Sunday to free a driver trapped in a two-car crash on North Gale Avenue.

Crews were called around 3 p.m. to the crash involving two four-door sedans.

According to Battalion Chief Mike Ralston, one person had to be freed using the jaws of life while another was able to get out on their own.

Ralston added that both victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Peoria police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
