EUGENE, Ore. – Total settlements from PacifiCorp for the 2020 Labor Day fires near $750 million, from their newest settlement with Oregon and Northern California wineries and vineyards.
Territorial Vineyards is one of the 96 Oregon wineries included in the settlement.
“That problem came to Oregon on Labor Day of 2020, as I say half the state burned down that day,” Mikal Watts, founder of Watts Law Firm LLP, said. “And primarily it was because of utility-caused wildfires. And so we have been applying a lot of pressure on Pacific or and others to pay for the damage that their utility caused wildfires resulted in.”
Local wineries included in the settlement declined to comment and wanted the lawyers from the settlement to talk for them.
