INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana basketball coach Darian DeVries acted a little bit like a spectator in the final minutes of a 76-74 exhibition win over Baylor .
DeVries refrained from using timeouts and didn't call any plays down the stretch as the Bears regained the lead on Sunday afternoon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse after trailing by as many as nine points with 8:24 to go.
That's not something a noted tactician like DeVries would have done in the regular season, but he wanted to see how his players worked through those pressure-filled moments and generated offense without him gathering them together on the bench in a tight game that didn't count in the standings.
