An abusive Irvine social care worker has been struck off for a catalogue of care failings towards patients under her supervision.
During one incident, Margaret Cavin, shouted at a dementia patient: “Do you like getting shouted at?” or words to that effect.
Cavin also threw the service user’s wet underwear at them, striking them on the arm with it.
This happened between December 4, 2018 and on or around December 6, 2018, while Cavin provided personal care to the resident, known only as ‘AA,’ who lives with dementia. At the time Cavin was employed as a care assistant by HC-One No. 1 Limited, in Irvine.
The industry regulator, the Scottish Social Services Council, (SSSC) said Cavin’s actions caused the service user “distress.”
