Bhopal: The city witnessed a spiritual fervor as devotees observed the second day of Chhath Puja with immense dedication on Sunday. The occasion, known as Kharna, saw hundreds of people fasting from sunrise to sunset, abstaining from both food and water. The fast is an essential part of the Chhath Puja rituals, with the day culminating in a special offering to the Sun God after sunset.
Devotees gathered at various water bodies across the city, including Upper Lake and Lower Lake, to perform the evening rituals, despite the clouds and rain obscuring the sun. Women, in particular, played a key role in the celebrations, holding offerings of Thekua (a traditional sweet) and fruits in baskets. These offerings were presented while chanting prayers for the well-being of their families.
