A British vlogger’s conversation with a fellow traveller about Indian artefacts has gone viral after it highlighted the long-standing issue of Indian treasures held in British museums.

In a video shared on Instagram, Alex is seen touring the National Museum of India in Delhi with Amina.

As they walked through the galleries, Alex asked, “Do you know why there’s hardly any artefacts here at the National Museum of India?” Amina's response was savage as she said, “I think it’s because they’re all in London.” Alex nodded knowingly, saying, “Oh, yes, I remember.”

The video has been shared widely across social media, with many users saying it reflects a “painful truth” about how countless artefacts from India were taken to Britain during the colonial era and remain there today.
