The Supreme Court Monday directed the chief secretaries of all the states and Union Territories, except West Bengal and Telangana, to appear before it on November 3 and explain why compliance affidavits were not filed in the stray dogs case, news agency PTI reported.
A three-judge bench pointed out that only the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and states of West Bengal and Telangana have filed their compliance affidavits following the apex court’s August 22 order.
The bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and N V Anjaria, also came down heavitly on the other states and UTs for not filing the said affidavits, stating that its August 22 order contained everything.
