Gilbert citizens’ fury over their high water bills and the town’s handling of this issue continued to dominate the community’s social media with one councilman saying he’s had enough.

In a Facebook post last week, Councilman Chuck Bongiovanni announced that to protect his family, he will “no longer engage in Facebook debates that go nowhere and only stoke the flames of our worse behaviors as a society.”

However, Bongiovanni also noted that he will “continue to work behind the scenes with residents, fellow council members and staff to make changes to help those I serve”.

His post followed by less than a week the arrest of one Gilbert man on charges he threatened violence against town officials over the water bill controversy.
