Dozens of individuals from Haryana's Kaithal, Karnal, and Kurukshetra districts were deported from the US to India in handcuffs and their legs shackled, showing the risks and high costs of entering into America via the illegal donkey routes. Many of them had spent months in detention centres in the US after being caught while attempting to enter or stay illegally. While news agency PTI reported that 35 men were deported from the US, The Indian Express said 50 illegal migrants from India were sent back. The other deportees were from Goa, Gujarat and Hyderabad, one of the detainees told the Indian Express.
