Team India’s vice-captain in ODIs, Shreyas Iyer , has been admitted to a hospital in Sydney after suffering a serious injury during the third ODI against Australia. What started as a heroic moment on the field turned into a frightening one when Iyer took a brilliant running catch to dismiss Alex Carey but ended up hurting his left rib cage in the process.
Witnesses recall that Iyer appeared to be in discomfort immediately after the catch, clutching his side as he walked off the field.
