A man has sadly died in a crash on the M6 after a car was spotted 'driving the wrong way' down the motorway.
The crash happened on the southbound side of the motorway near Leyland and Standish, near the Charnock Richard services, at around 9.33pm last night (Sunday).
Lancashire Police said just minutes before the crash, a car, believed to be a Vauxhall Astra, was reported to have been 'travelling in the wrong direction' on the motorway.
A Vauxhall Astra and a Toyota Corolla then collided on the southbound carriageway.
