Driver dies in UK motorway tragedy after Vauxhall Astra goes in 'wrong direction' View Image

A man has died after a motorway crash saw a car drive the wrong way. Lancashire Constabulary this morning said: "At 9:33pm last night we received a report of a car travelling the wrong direction on the southbound carriageway of the M6, near to Charnock Richard services.

"Minutes later, we received a report of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Toyota Corolla near to Charnock Richard services on the southbound carriageway. Sadly, the driver of the Astra, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The driver and the passenger of the Corolla, both men in their 40s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries where they remain. An investigation is underway, and our officers are
