CHARLESTON — Commuters cruising Folly Road made a double-take when they saw two horses along the roadside on June 3.

The pair was Desmond Green and his uncle Dexter Flynn, the James Island Cowboys .

During the day, Green works as a welder and his uncle drives trucks. After work, they call each other up to see if they want to go for a ride. Usually, it's down the road to Garage 75 for a drink where they tie their horses, Babygirl and Atlas, out front.

The cowboys headed out from Battery Island Drive, where Flynn grew up, around 5 p.m. on horseback. They then meandered towards the bar, trotting along the bicycle lane and cutting through the Walmart parking lot where some kids wanted to take a picture.
