WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say a 28-year-old man driving under the influence struck five parked vehicles and crashed into a building in Waterbury.
Authorities responded to reports of a crash around 7:17 p.m. on Sunday in the area of Thomaston Avenue.
Police said a white Ford Econoline Van driven by Diego Quituizaca Matailo, of Waterbury, had swerved from the northbound lane and struck several parked, unoccupied vehicles. The van continued and crashed into a building before coming to a stop.
All five vehicles sustained only minor damage, police said.
The building also had minor damage, but its structural integrity was unaffected, according to police.
According to police, Quituizaca Matailo failed three field sobriety tests, and he was arrested.
