PARMA, Ohio -- When Carolyn Kovach learned her good friend Nicole Corle was going to be taking a trip to Parma, Italy, the city of Parma’s Director of Communications couldn’t resist sending a certain two-legged pink passenger along.
“In September, I told my friend, Nicole, that Parma will celebrate its bicentennial in 2026,” she said. “Coincidentally, she was heading to Parma, Italy this fall.
“When she offered to share photos, I asked her to include our social media mascot, Freddie the Flamingo, to help promote the bicentennial. My husband, a creative director, then assembled a travel-ready Freddie that fit easily in her luggage.”
We Are Parma Proud and the city of Parma encourages residents to take photos with Freddie the Flamingo when on trips near and far.
