RED WING, Minn. — An investigation that began in southeast Minnesota has resulted in an international arrest. Red Wing Police Department (RWPD) officers and firefighters responded to two emergency calls on October 14 and October 16 regarding multiple shooting victims at a residence on the 1300 block of East Avenue. Both were identified as "swatting" incidents, which are false reports meant to provoke a large-scale armed response. The RWPD's Investigations Unit discovered connections to a cybercrime network targeting children and teenagers through extortion and violence.
