DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- Captain David Hall with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has announced he will run for Geneva County Sheriff in 2026.
Hall announced his run for the office on Monday morning.
"I wanna try to make a difference," Hall said in his announcement video. "If I am elected your sheriff, I will do everything in my power to make it (Geneva County) better."
Hall ran for sheriff in 2014, losing to current sheriff Tony Helms by only nine votes.
Hall is a captain with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and has plans to retire at the end of this year. He has been with ALEA since its founding in 2015.
He has been in law enforcement since 1992, when he joined the Slocomb Police Department. Hall later joined the Geneva County Sheriff's Office in 1995 before becoming a state agent
