SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -Schenectady Shares usually runs a food drive after the holidays to restock. That’s changed over the last few years. Now to make sure there’s enough for Thanksgiving, the nonprofit has needed to collect more donations earlier.

“Last week we had 230 families, which was 750 people. Again, they’re a larger number. We usually see these numbers the last week of the month; it’s already started," said the executive director of Schenectady Shares, Jackie Clute. She's been getting multiple emails from concerned neighbors about SNAP benefits being available or not.
