ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — Rockingham County residents who rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits could see disruptions next month due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the department announced Monday.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and Rockingham County Department of Health and Human Services recently received a federal letter warning that November SNAP benefits may not be issued on the normal schedule or for the usual amount if the shutdown continues.
