KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI — A Kalamazoo Township employee is back on the township board after resigning in 2024.
Clara Robinson, a Democrat, was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2020. She was running for reelection in 2024 before accepting a full-time position as executive coordinator with the township.
Robinson said she felt stepping down was the best way to avoid any conflict of interest.
By the time she decided to drop out of the race, Robinson’s name already appeared on November 2024 election ballots sent out.
She was the second-highest vote-getter after incumbent trustee Ashley Glass, so she earned a trustee seat.
