DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A little trip to the barbershop over the weekend led to a Durham man winning a $100,000 prize, the North Carolina Education Lottery said on Monday.
A common Saturday for Oscar Galdamez Rosales very quickly became uncommon.
“It was just a usual Saturday at first,” Rosales said. “I had a haircut.”
After his trim, he needed cash to pay his barber, so he made a quick pitstop at the Lighthouse Food Mart on Holloway Street in Durham, purchasing a $20 Ruby Red 7’s scratch-off while inside.
“Something just told me to buy that, so I went for it,” he recalled.
