It’s officially high school football season in the South, and one huge hit has everyone talking. On Friday night, Brentwood Academy showed what tough, old-school football looks like in a 49-7 win over Father Ryan High. But one play stood out more than the score.

Late in the second quarter, Brentwood’s Mason Murphy delivered what fans are calling one of the hardest hits of the year.

After an interception near midfield, Murphy blindsided a Father Ryan player so hard that the helmet flew one way and the football the other. Brentwood quickly recovered the ball, and the crowd went crazy.
