RAINBOW CITY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Rainbow City Police Department is sharing an arrest in a high-speed chase that left one of their officers injured.
According to the Rainbow City Police Department, on Saturday, Oct. 4, as a police pursuit entered their jurisdiction, an officer attempted to deploy spike strips in an effort to safely end the chase. However, it was unsuccessful and the officer was left with non-life threatening injuries.
27-year-old Zachery Wayne Malone of Florence has been identified as the suspect in that chase.
Police say that Malone is facing multiple charges from the Rainbow City Police Department, as well as the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.
These charges include second-degree assault, felony attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, reckless endangermen
