INDIANAPOLIS —

Police in Indianapolis made several arrests and towed seven cars over the weekend in a crackdown on street takeover activity and reckless driving.

According to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, officers partnered with Indiana State Police and the Beech Grove Police Department to make the arrests. Advertisement

In total last weekend, seven people were arrested, 22 traffic citations were issued, seven cars were towed and four firearms were seized.

Many of the arrests were for criminal recklessness, according to police, while others were arrested on drug charges or operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Final charging decisions will be up to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
