HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Connecticut voters will encounter new voting equipment when they head to the polls this year. All polling places in the state have received upgraded tabulators.

The new equipment represents the state’s first upgrade in about 20 years and includes nearly 2,700 state-of-the-art tabulators from vendor Election Systems and Software. The upgrade was made possible through a $25 million bond approved by Governor Ned Lamont and the Bond Commission in 2023.

“On November 4th, most Connecticut voters will see the new tabulators for the first time. As you know, our last equipment was purchased before the iPhone was invented. So, it was time for an upgrade,” said Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas.
