PORTLAND, Ore. — Three men have been charged with attempted murder after an assault on a TriMet bus in Portland left a passenger hospitalized with severe injuries.
According to court documents, the attack happened Oct. 15 after Audric Yesiki and brothers Rinsom “Terson” Tom and Greffy Tom tried to board a bus at Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 142nd Avenue.
The bus operator told police the men were told they could not smoke on the bus. One of them, who appeared intoxicated, encouraged the others to get on. The man who had been smoking initially refused to board.
During the exchange, another passenger shouted at the group, saying he needed to get to work. The men yelled back, according to an affidavit. The passenger then got up from his seat and approached them, appearing to try to
