ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in Georgia, with rates higher than the national average. Doctors said cases among people under 50 are rising fast. By 2030, it’s projected to become the leading cause of cancer deaths for that age group.
To spark earlier conversations and encourage screenings, the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education (Georgia CORE) has launched a bold new awareness effort — the “Weird Looking Stools” campaign.
From September through November, 30 artist-designed bar stools are popping up in bars, coffee shops and public spaces across Atlanta and beyond. Created by Atlanta-based artist Julian Scalia , each stool is intentionally strange — spiky, colorful, and impossible to ignore.
