Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Monday witnessed noisy scenes as issues related to the reservation policy, cross-voting in the recent Rajya Sabha polls, and the detention of an AAP MLA under the Public Safety Act (PSA) dominated the proceedings.

Peoples Conference president Sajad Gani Lone sought to move an adjournment motion to discuss the government’s “failure” to rationalize the reservation policy.

Calling it a “post-dated cheque for disaster,” Lone pressed for a discussion, but Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather rejected the motion, citing procedural rules and the matter’s sub-judice status.
