LUBBOCK, Texas -- A simple screensaver has blossomed into a full-time business for one Lubbock family.

Tina Schooler and her husband, owners of Raider West Farms, were simply trying to find a way to use their land when a picture of a beautiful lavender field appeared on their computer.

What began as an experiment soon became a full-time business. Schooler started with lavender syrup, but customer feedback pushed her to expand. Now, her product line includes syrups, dressings and cocktail kits made from local produce.

By incorporating other local farms, like Idalou Harvest, and using creativity, Schooler shows there's no limit to the versatility of the purple plant.
