AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. —
An investigation is underway after police shot an armed man and two people were found dead in a gas station in Aiken County, South Carolina.
On Saturday, officers with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety were called to a Sprint gas station on Edgefield Road for a shooting.
The first responding officer encountered a man armed with an AR-style pistol. During the encounter, the armed man raised the weapon, and the officer shot him. Additional officers arrived after the shooting took place. The man was then transported to the hospital. The suspect has not been identified.
Inside the gas station, a man and woman were found with fatal gunshot wounds. The Aiken County Coroner's Office identified the victims as 76-year-old Jewel Harden and 33-year-old Thomas Lill
