SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Two California Highway Patrol officers rescued a rabbit attempting to cross the Bay Bridge earlier this month.

CHP Officers J. Landquist and H. Contreras responded to a call on a Sunday afternoon for a bunny rabbit hopping along the raised catwalk on the eastbound side of Interstate 80 toward Treasure Island.

“As CHP Officers Landquist and Contreras arrived in the area, they quickly hopped into action and approached the wayward bunny,” CHP said. “The bunny began feverishly hopping away from the officers along the right lanes and catwalk, eluding capture for several minutes while attempting to flee back towards San Francisco.” • CHP officers pose with the rescued bunny.
