MILTON, Mass. —
Fontbonne Academy is celebrating its beloved soccer coach, Paul Piotrowicz, and his 34 years of dedication to his athletes.
"Coach P" has a calm way about him on the pitch, but his coaching and mentorship have been resonating loudly with students for decades.
He's now considering retirement, but isn't ready to make that call just yet.
His fans, many of whom he's coached at the all-girls school, held signs celebrating his career.
Former athletes who spoke with NewsCenter 5 say his coaching helped them build confidence, character, and compassion, both on and off the field.
"He was just always there for everyone," said Tressa Murphy, a Fontbonne soccer alum. "Such a great presence. He always made everyone feel so welcome."
