Anchorage Police responded to a weapons-related disturbance on Muldoon Road Saturday evening.
Officers say a 34-year-old woman, Nadene Slats, reportedly took a friend’s firearm, threatened him, and made threats to burn down his trailer. When officers arrived, Slats was alone inside the trailer and refused to come out.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers issued multiple warnings, including canine alerts. Slats continued to refuse commands and reportedly expressed intentions to harm herself. A K9 was deployed and bit Slats on the right arm, leading to her apprehension.
Slats was treated at a hospital for her injuries and then taken to Highland Mountain Correctional Center. She faces charges including Assault in the Third Degree, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Fi
