PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A Portland mother has been released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody after she and her four children were detained by federal agents in July, according to members of Oregon’s congressional delegation.

Court documents say Jackie Merlos, a Honduran citizen, and her four children, who are U.S. citizens, were detained by Customs and Border Protection officers at Peace Arch Park in northern Washington state back in July.

Merlos’ children were released from custody to a family friend after an emergency court order requested by Rep. Maxine Dexter and Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden was granted by a federal judge.
