MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - The Mishawaka Common Council approved an ordinance allowing for a new shooting range on Monday night.

Despite some vocal objections to the new 13,000 square foot facility, the council passed the measure unanimously.

Those opposed to the shooting range took the opportunity to address the council, but the concerns weren’t about the shooting range itself.

Instead, critics spoke about overall commercial development and increased traffic.

“I grew up there. Elmwood is a nice peaceful road and most of the time it still is. But every time a new business goes in, we get more traffic more problems more trash,” said Doug Grall a homeowner who lives on Elmwood Avenue.
