The attack is suspected to have been carried out by members of the UKNA

Mangthang Haokip, the chief of T Khonomphai village near Henglep Headquarters, in Churachandpur district of Manipur was shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday at around 4:30 PM. The attack is suspected to have been carried out by members of the UKNA.

Due to the remote location of the village, the victim was first carried to Khaopijang village for transportation to the District Hospital in Churachandpur. Unfortunately, he was declared dead on arrival, and his body was subsequently returned to his village.

An FIR (No. 6(10)2025 HLP-PS) has been registered under U/s 103/3(5)-BNS in connection with the attack.
