The 18-year-old involved in the stabbing last week at a Savannah Walmart has died from his injuries Monday morning.
On Oct. 23 around 5:50 p.m., Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) officers responded to the retail store on Hwy. 80 for reports of an altercation between two men.
A CCPD investigation found that a 49-year-old man was exiting Walmart with his shopping cart when the 18-year-old kicked the shopping cart as he passed by. An altercation ensued that left the 18-year-old severely injured.
Officers spoke with the 49-year-old and witnesses on the scene, and no arrests were made at the time of publication.
This is an active investigation. CCPD detectives will consult with the Chatham County District Attorney's Office to determine any criminal charges in the case.
