SOUTH ANNVILLE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Brent and Stacey Copenhaver and their children welcomed Gov. Josh Shapiro to their Lebanon County farm Oct. 15 to celebrate farmland preservation in the commonwealth.
Shapiro took to the microphone during the event at Talview Farm to announce that Pennsylvania leads the nation in farmland preservation, with 6,600 preserved farms representing 650,000 acres. A crowd of over 100 state and local officials, FFA members, Pennsylvania state dairy royalty and owners of preserved farms gathered to hear the governor, Ag Secretary Russell Redding and others address the theme, “Growing Tomorrow, Preserving Today.”
