KILLINGLY, Conn. — One person is in custody after a fatal shooting in Killingly , according to state police.

Monday night, troopers were called to a home on Pratt Road. A caller stated he was shot in the chest, officials said.

The man was taken to Day Kimball Hospital by ambulance and was then transferred via Life Star to Hartford Hospital. Officials said Tuesday morning that the man died from his injuries.

The Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad is investigating the shooting as a homicide. A suspect is in custody, officials said, and there is no threat to the public.

State police have not released the identities of the man or the suspect at this time.
