WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police are investigating after a man was wounded in a shooting Monday night in West Haven.

Authorities were called around 10:48 p.m. to the area of Emma Street for a person shot.

At the scene, police said they found a man who had been shot.

Police said officers on scene gave medical attention before the West Haven Fire Department's arrival.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Authorities did not provide additional information on his injuries.
