A 22-year-old Afghan national has been arrested following a triple stabbing in Uxbridge, west London, which resulted in one man's death. The incident occurred on Monday at around 5pm in Midhurst Gardens, prompting a swift response from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service.
Emergency services arrived to find three individuals had been attacked. A 49-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was treated at the scene for stab wounds but tragically succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of paramedics.
In addition to the deceased, a 45-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were also treated for their injuries. The man’s condition has been described as life-changing but not life-threatening, while the boy's injuries were confirmed to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
The arrested suspect remains in police custody, facing charges of murder and attempted murder. Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information.
Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall, who oversees policing in Uxbridge, expressed her condolences, stating, "This was a shocking and senseless act of violence that has left one man dead and two others injured. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this unimaginably difficult time."
Horsfall acknowledged the community's concerns and assured residents that additional officers would be deployed in the area throughout the week to provide reassurance. She urged the public to rely on official channels for information and to refrain from sharing sensitive footage related to the incident.
A crime scene has been established, and a significant police presence will remain in the area as investigations continue. Residents have been thanked for their patience during this challenging time.
