A Lancaster County man was charged in the death of his girlfriend after EMS found her in soiled clothes in a dirty room “caked in dust,” state police said.
Ronald Louis Bender, 60, of Conestoga, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a care-dependent person and neglect of a care-dependent person based on the Sept. 10, 2024, death of Carolyn Trimble-Weber, 62.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by state police said that Bender was the sole caretaker of Trimble-Weber for the last five years of her life. She was bed-bound and minimally verbal, although she was able to respond to yes or no questions.
Around 9:18 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2024, Bender called 911 when he heard Trimble-Weber breathing heavy and fast. Lancaster County EMS responded and found Trimble-Webe
