BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A local non-profit is launching a program to help Binghamton families in need with their utilities.

The Network for a Sustainable Tomorrow (NeST) is hosting a launch event for Binghamton Community Power (BCP) on October 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Centenary Chenango St. United Methodist Church, located at 438 Chenango Street in Binghamton.

BCP is a program designed to increase energy efficiency and participation in clean energy initiatives among disadvantaged communities across Binghamton, with a focus on the North Side.

The program will connect residents to education and services available to address their needs. It will also advocate for increased funding using data collected from residents on the barriers they face to pursuing clean energy improvements.
