NORMANGEE, Texas (KBTX) - Access to healthcare in rural Texas is already a significant challenge, and now another community is grappling with the impending loss of nearby medical services.

St. Joseph Health has confirmed the closure of its primary care clinic in Normangee, leaving many residents with lengthy travel times for essential medical care.

For years, the Normangee clinic has been the closest primary care option for families in and around the small town, serving over 600 patients. However, come November 7, its doors will close, forcing many residents to travel nearly an hour to see a doctor.
