As debate over the pace of growth in Lebanon continues, Mayor Rick Bell said a mixed-use development approved for up to 574 multifamily units is too beneficial to pass up.

The Lifestyle Communities project, dubbed LC Lebanon, along Franklin Road, south of Interstate 40 and near South Hartmann Drive got underway in July with a ceremonial groundbreaking on Oct. 24.

Bell, who spoke at the ceremony, said the project's amenities include a sit-down restaurant and coffee shop make it an overall win for the community.

"Lebanon is able to pick and choose what development we want and this is a development we want," Bell said. "It's a step up from what we got before. It's in a perfect location right off the interstate. It's something that will provide amenities for people throughout the city. But
