Members of the United Cajun Navy from Louisiana are deployed to Jamaica as the island nation braces for a catastrophic hurricane.
Brian Trascher, the vice president of the United Cajun Navy, says their response overseas has to be limited due to safety reasons. Despite this, three members of the non-profit's advanced response team are boots on the ground. The team specializes in search and rescue efforts. An additional six members will fly to Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa passes.
Nonprofits and airlines are teaming up in order to ship out cargo that will be necessary to rebuild and help families in the aftermath.
